About
Ryan Allen, LPCC-S, LPC

You never dreamed parenting a preschool-aged kid could be this hard. Historically, you have prided yourself on being able to figure out problems, find a solution, and work hard to make it happen, but it seems like those strategies that have always been so successful have been useless in helping your 4-year-old.
You want the best for your little one and seeing them struggle so much with their emotions leads to feelings of worry, confusion, frustration, and feeling like a failure.
I became a child therapist because I wanted to help kids in those crucial years when their brains are still malleable and they are able to learn the skills that will help them for the rest of their lives.
In a world that moves as fast as ours with increasingly busy families, longer hours at work, and electronics making it easier to hide from our feelings than it is to deal with them, I help families use the little time they have together to connect rather than fight and, in so doing, help to find peace in their homes.
Kids are the future of our world and by helping them learn how to deal with problems, make friends, and cope with their emotions, we are making a brighter future.
It is so hard when you have a kid who is acting out. The constant screaming, hitting, kicking, biting, and arguing is exhausting. The thing is, they have moments when they are sweet and funny; they just feel so infrequent. It’s embarrassing and draining feeling like you can’t help your child through tough moments.
Children can respond wonderfully to therapy. Things can start to get better.
