Hello and welcome! This is my first of many posts.
My belief is that changing our lives begins with one step. Once we have made one, it is easier to make another until we look back and no longer recognize the person in the distance. Similarly to a quote from John Green’s a Fault in Our Stars: “I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”
We not only decide to change, but we take action to make a change. Small, seemingly inconsequential actions add up to a new person; then we keep going. Because, when we realize change is a process and not a destination, we understand that we are always going to take one more step to an unachievable, but ever closer perfect self.
The purpose of this blog is to provide suggestions, thoughts, and small steps that, if people choose to implement, have the capacity to lead us closer to our idealized selves. Because change can start anywhere, this blog will cover many areas of well being: nutrition, fitness, social, motivation, stress, and behavioral health to cover a few.
Understand that while these suggestions, if implemented, can lead to great change, they are not comparable to one-on-one counseling and coaching from a trained professional. For those suffering from a diagnosable mental health disorder, none of these suggestions can be a replacement for a licensed mental health professional.
